How do I dispose of junk appliances?: Refrigerated appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, window air conditioning units and central air conditioning units as well as washers, dryers, water heaters and other scrap metals may be delivered to the Street and Sanitation Department located at 301 First Ave. for recycling.

1. How do I dispose of junk appliances?: Refrigerated appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, window air conditioning units and central air conditioning units as well as washers, dryers, water heaters and other scrap metals may be delivered to the Street and Sanitation Department located at 301 First Ave. for recycling.

2. I think I have a water leak or sewer stop. Who do I call?: During normal business hours,call (806) 655-5011 and the City will be happy to send someone out to help you determine whether or not you have a leak or stoppage (free of charge). After hours you can call the Randall County Sheriff’s Office at (806) 468-5751 and they will dispatch a City employee to assist you.

3. I am installing a sprinkler system. What do I need to do?: Contact the City of Canyon Planning & Development Department at (806) 655-5014 ext. 104 to obtain any necessary permits. If you need to increase the size of your current meter, this can be done in person through the Public Works Department. Both of these departments are located at 301 16th St. If you currently have a 5/8” meter and need to upgrade to a 3/4” meter, the cost is $125.00. If you need to upgrade to a 1” meter, the cost increases to $750.00 due to the fact we must replace the entire line.
